LCHF: What's in a name?
The LCHF "umbrella"
What's in a name?
"That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)
William Shakespeare
What all the LCHF diets have in common is their restriction of Carbs and higher consumption of Fats. Although LCHF stands for Low Carb High Fat Diet, I like to refer to it as LOWER Carb and HIGHER Fat. Depending on which practitioner you follow, which phase of the diet you are in, or what your health goals are, you may eat more or less carbs and fat. There is a sweet spot for everyone.
There are many names referring to "LCHF diets", but the important thing to remember here is that all LCHF Practitioners would like you to become empowered with knowledge so that YOU can take control over your own well-being and health.
The FOCUS of all LCHF diets is on REAL Foods, mostly animal and plant foods, that are NOT processed. Practically all LCHF practitioners agree that grains should be avoided as to leave room for more nutritionally-appropriate choices and to aid in weight-loss and maintenance. Whatever plan you choose, make sure to get the proper guidance and support.
